This photograph shows a group of people and horse-drawn wagons in front of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company in Marion, Kansas. The men have gathered for an inspection. The one-story "county-seat" style depot, opened on June 17, 1912 and features a gabled roof with an operator's bay and an enclosed freight room. At the peaks of the roof are the Santa Fe emblems commonly associated with a county-seat depot. The depot was refurbished by the Marion City Library and the City of Marion and opened on July 14, 2002 as the Marion City Library.
