"Do you have Prince Albert in a can?" has been the start of many a joke since 1907 when the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company patented their Prince Albert Crimp Cut pipe and cigarette tobacco. The distinctive red, yellow and white can featured a picture of Prince Albert, who ruled Britain under the name of King Edward VII. This can was recovered during the 2016 monitoring of the restoration at the Last Chance Store in Council Grove. Both ends of the can are missing, but the can is in remarkably good shape otherwise. Among other wording the can notes that "Prince Albert TOBACCO IS PREPARED FOR SMOKERS UNDER THE PROCESS DISCOVERED IN MAKING EXPERIMENTS TO PRODUCE THE MOST DELIGHTFUL AND WHOLESOME TOBACCO FOR CIGARETTE AND PIPE SMOKERS." The Last Chance Store was added to the National Register of Historic Images in 1971.
