Shown are just a few of the dozens of trade beads that were recovered from the Last Chance Store in Council Grove during the 2016 Kansas Archeology Training Program. These were recovered from between the two floors. Trade beads were originally exchanged with Native Americans for goods. They are still being manufactured today for use in beadwork. The Last Chance Store was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
