This base of a serving bowl was recovered during the excavations at the Last Chance Store in Council Grove at the 2016 Kansas Archeology Training Program (KATP). The Last Chance Store was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. The four pieces were recovered from four separate locations and reconstructed in the Archeology Lab at the KATP. The whiteware pieces shows the maker's mark of the pottery of Meakin Bros & Co of Cobridge, England, who used this mark from about 1865 until 1882.
