Seated in the middle row are (left to right): Sidney Moss (p); Leon McCarty (coach); Harold DeLongy (c, captain); Adrian Lindsey (if); and Edward Tanner (lf). Standing in the back are (left to right): George Harrell (c, of); Ralph Sproull (1b, p); Frank Chinery (of); and Halleck Craig (p). The team's record in 1915 was 8-4. The photograph was published in the 1916 Kansas Jayhawker, page 185. Adrian "Ad" Lindsey was a three-sport athlete at the university, lettering in football, basketball, and baseball. He played minor league baseball for a few years, but was best known as a football player and coach. He captained the KU football team in 1916 and was twice named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team. At the close of WWI, he was a member of the Eighty-Ninth Division football team that won the American Expeditionary Forces championship. Lindsey would later become the head football coach at KU (1932-38), after serving in a similar capacity at Bethany College (1922-26), and the University of Oklahoma (1927-31).
