This postcard shows a bird's eye view of Council Grove, Kansas. In the foreground is a monument built by school children in 1901. According to the donor of the postcard, the Old Bell was used not only as a school and church bell, but also to alert residents about fires, funerals, celebrations and to the presence of Native Americans.
