This is a photograph of Oliver Frank Tarr, who served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was born and raised in Coldwater, Kansas. From January 22, 1942 - May 9, 1947 he served as an aviation radio gunner in bombing squadron 12 in the South Pacific. He was commissioned an ensign and served as an active duty aviator from May 9, 1947 - March 31, 1950 and was released as a lieutenant junior grade. From March 31, 1950 - September 1, 1965 was inactive reserve and was transferred to retired reserve on September 1, 1965.
