Portrait of Samuel Johnson Crawford the third Governor of Kansas, 1865-68. He is the youngest man to have served as Governor, being only 29 years old when elected. He resigned from office November 4, 1868, in order to take command of the 19th Kansas Regiment. He died in Topeka on October 21, 1913.
