These three dart points from a late Archaic period site in Allen County illustrate three possible stages in a dart point's use life. The complete corner-notched dart would have been attached to the fore shaft of a throwing spear and propelled by using a spear thrower or atlatl. The second largest corner-notched dart point fragment was broken, though it doesn't have the curved leading edge that indicates it broke at impact. The smallest parallel stemmed dart point has been retouched/reworked after it was broken and was likely used as a hafted scraper. All three pieces were donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2015.
