These three dart points from a late Archaic period site in Allen County illustrate three possible stages in a dart point's use life. The complete corner notched dart would have been attached to the fore shaft of a throwing spear and propelled by using a spear thrower or atlatl. The second largest corner notched dart point fragment was broken, though it doesn't have the curved leading edge that indicates it broke at impact. The smallest parallel stemmed dart point has been retouched/reworked after it was broken and was likely used as a hafted scraper. All three pieces were donated to the Kansas Historical Society in 2015.
