This is a photograph of the U.S.S. Oregon City (CA122), the lead ship of the Oregon City class of heavy cruisers. It was built by Bethlehem Steel Company, Quincy, Massachusetts, and launched June 9, 1945. The Oregon City was commissioned February 16, 1946 with Captain Burtnett Kent Culver in command. It was decommissioned February, 1947.
