These four scrapers were collected from the Wullschleger site in Marshall County. They are just a few of the many artifacts donated by Otto Wullschleger to the Kansas Historical Society in 1960 and 1961. The pinkish color of one of the scrapers is a result of the material being carefully heated before manufacturing to improve the chert's knapping qualities. The scrapers were likely hafted on a handle and used to scrape hides. The village was occupied periodically during the Early, Middle, and Late Ceramic periods.
