This photograph shows inmates Jerry Chouteau, prisoner #8689 and John Sparks, prisoner #5847. Jerry Chouteau, also known as G.M. Chouteau, was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on October 20, 1898 from Bourbon County, Kansas for grand larceny. Inmate John Sparks was received at the penitentiary on May 5, 1891 from Canadian County, Oklahoma for murder.
