This photograph shows inmates Fred Kalestrin, prisoner #8966 and Ed Wilms, prisoner #9324. Fred Kalestrin, also known as Fred McDowell/McTowel and Kelestrin, was received at the Kansas State penitentiary on May 10, 1899 from Douglas County, Kansas for larceny. Ed Wilms was received at the penitentiary on April 16, 1900 from Roger Mills County, Oklahoma for murder. He was sentenced on April 6, 1900.
