This photograph shows inmates James Tenpenny, prisoner #9507 and George Johnson, prisoner #9495. James Tenpenny, also spelled Tenpeny, was received at the Kansas State Penitentiary on October 27, 1900 from Kay County, Oklahoma for forgery. Inmate George Johnson was received at the penitentiary on October 15, 1900 from Ford County, Kansas for robbery. He was convited on October 4, 1900.
