Correspondence between Louis Palenske, a photographer from Alma, Kansas, and Kirke Mechem, secretary of the Kansas Historical Society in Topeka, Kansas. The two men discuss Palenske's recollection of a trip to Germany in 1884 to encourage settlement along the Santa Fe Railway. Palenske previously worked as a land agent for the Santa Fe Railway.
