These trial balances were prepared by the New England Emigrant Aid Company listing major company assets and liabilities. Most of the trial balances include the value of property owned in various towns in Kansas Territory. Trial balances are included for: January 1, 1857; May 25, 1857; December 1, 1857; May 25, 1858; January 1, 1859: July 1, 1859; January 1, 1859; January 1, 1860; June 1, 1860; and January 1, 1861.
