Dr. Karl described the tree behind his house as "the biggest in Topeka". He described these photographs as "the death of a grand tree". It was cut down in 1970. Dr. Karl Menninger was one of the founding fathers of psychiatry. He was also a great observer and deeply appreciated the natural world. (the colored photographs have faded)
