

Terracotta teapot with traditional tea leaf straining holes in the spout. This teapot was made in Osaka, Japan between 1885 and 1902. It was acquired in Sendai, Japan where donors Maude Whitmore Madden and Milton B. Madden were missionaries from the First Christian Church of Topeka, Kansas. Maude Madden wrote several books about her missionary time in Japan.
