This letter, sent to Senator Arthur Capper by Reverend C.E. Krehbiel, President of The General Conference of the Mennonite Church of North America, addresses Capper's work to keep the U.S. out of the situation developing in Europe. In particular, Krehbiel is concerned that the U.S. is becoming too close to the situation in Europe, and government officials must do everything in their power to keep the U.S. neutral because "Heaven forbid that we should be come the allies of an outspoken Godless government across the sea whose hymn of hate is 'Worldrevolution', and that under the guise of preservation of Democracy!"
