This black and white photograph shows the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway Company's steam locomotive No. 5000 "Madam Queen". It was a Texas type locomotive, 2-10-4 wheel design, and burned coal. The locomotive was built by the Baldwin Locomotive of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and placed into service in 1930. It weighed 502,600 pounds and had 69" diameter drivers, which were larger than most other steam engines at that time.
