This black and white photograph shows a street scene in Matfield Green, Kansas. The image shows a muddy street with horse-drawn wagons and people standing outside storefronts. Named after an English community in England, the town was a railhead along the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company for shipping cattle out of the Flint Hills region of Chase County, Kansas.

Date: Between 1886 and 1919
