A photograph showing miners and several children posed at shaft mine 6 of the Crowe Coal Company located in northeastern Crawford County, Kansas. Visible is the tipple, engine house to the right, railroad cars, tracks, and tailing pile in the background. Mules were used to pulled the coal cars in the underground tunnels.
