This is a photo of Henry and Maria Schmedemann and family standing in front of their stone house in Geary County, Kansas. The house was built in the late 1870s when the family first came to Kansas. the house served as a post office while the family was living there. Henry was the postmaster. The house is still standing and sits at the corner of Humboldt Creek Road and Schmedemann Road.
