This photograph shows an interior view of the pharmacy room at Stansfield Drug Store, located at 632 Kansas Avenue in Topeka, Kansas. The back wall of the room is covered with shelves filled with bottles of chemicals and pharmacy supplies, and a sink is visible on the right side of the picture. Glass beakers used for mixing chemicals are visible on the counter top around the sink. Two men are standing at a counter and appear to be preparing prescriptions, while the third man is standing at a small table stand talking on a candlestick-style telephone. Two of the men are identified as Joe Schneider and Charles Cole, and the third man is an unidentified employee. In the upper left background of the picture, a basket hanging on cables is visible. The basket could be used to transfer filled prescriptions from the pharmacist in the room out an opening to the clerk at the pharmacy service counter.
