Senator Arthur Capper of Washington D.C. writes to Kansas Governor Henry Allen of Topeka, Kansas, with reference to the proposed women suffrage amendment to the United States Constitution. Capper includes House Joint Resolution No. 1 that passed the United States Senate on June 4 1919. In search of the resolution, Secretary to the Governor, Clyde Reed, directs the postmaster "if you can locate it kindly deliver to the bearer... . We are checking up today for the legislative session which meets tomorrow and need this badly."
