Dear Sir

 

I was waited upon by Mr. Veazy a few days since and-

asked to subscribe something for-

the “Lawrence” sufferers.  This I-

propose to do in the following-

manner viz I will contribute-

100-packages ea 10[lbs] of my best-soap

total 1000[lbs] such as I sell here

@ [xx2 c.]  These packages to be

 given one to each of the 100 families

who suffered by the Quantrell raid-

 

This will be an advertisement for

me and at the same time the soap is

as good as money to the receiver-

 

If you will receive and forward this

contribution please advise and I will

ship soon after the receipt of your-

letter.  In mean time
