This black and white portrait shows William Craw Webb, (1824-1898). Webb served as a county attorney, and judge to the eleventh judicial and superior court of Shawnee County. His career as a public servant also included tenure as Kansas' Superintendent of Insurance and clerk of the Kansas Supreme Court, (1871-1878). Webb was actively involved in politics, and served as a member of the Kansas House of Representatives from (1870-1871). In 1890, he was re-elected to the Kansas House of Representatives to serve the forty-first district of Shawnee County.
