This color photograph shows the thirty-eight President of the United States Gerald Ford and Kansas Governor Robert Bennett in front of Cedar Crest, the official residence of the governor, in Topeka, Kansas. On February 11, 1975, President Ford arrived in Topeka to speak before the Kansas Legislator about his economic and energy programs. Later in the day, the president meet with ten Midwest governors at Cedar Crest for a working luncheon to discuss proposals for strengthening the nation's economy and reducing America's dependency on Middle Eastern oil.
