A sepia colored photo of Minor Burge Hupp taken from the 1869 House of Representatives and Senate panel. Hupp born in Monroe County, Ohio January 22, 1836 was a private in Company A of the 9th Regiment of the Kansas Cavalry under Capt. George F. Early. After the war, he settled in the Kansas community of Ridgeway in Osage County and was elected to the Kansas House of Representatives. Later in his life, he moved to Iowa, Nebraska and Wichita, Kansas. The latter move was to be closer to his son's James Minor Hupp and John Minor Hupp who owned a grocery store on main street in Wichita. On April 27, 1892 at the age of fifty six, Minor Burge Hupp passed away and was buried in Maple Grove cementery in Wichita, Kansas.
