A portrait of Stephen Ogden who served as Sheriff of Douglas county from 1864 to 1868. He latter moved to Coffey County and was elected in 1885 from the forty third district to serve in the Kansas House of Representatives. Ogden served on the committee of Interstate Commerce an don militia and was a member of the Republican State Convention in 1884.
