This black and white photograph shows Missouri Pacific steam locomotive #6428, pulling a train composed of a coal tender, mail freight car, and four passenger cars, stopped at the Missouri Pacific depot in Topeka, Kansas. Patron provided information indicates that Raymond C. Hilner photographed this train at 4:30 pm on April 26 and that the train was a special for children that ran from Salina to Topeka and back. This information provided by William A. Gibson Jr., who was with Ray Hilner and W.A.Gibson Sr. at that time.
