This leaflet list the various horse races that were scheduled during the 1885 Western National Fair held at Bismarck Grove, Lawrence, Kansas, Sept. 7-12. They included waling, trotting, pacing, and running for horses of various ages and at various lengths. There was also a slow mule race. Prizes ranged from $25 to $400, though most amounts were divided between several places. The rules of various racing associations applied and the events were considered part of the Missouri Valley Circuit. I. N. Van Hoesen was superintendent of the races.
