Please follow up for action the following telegram sent President Roosevelt quote drouth conditions of the dust bowl have reached an emergency stage requiring drastic action  Stop  We appeal to the federal government for the preservation of life and property in the dust bowl area in the states of Oklahoma  Texas  NewMexico  Colorado and Kansas  Stop  Present program inadequate under individual operation to cover the area in time to accomplish necessary results  Stop  Work must be done under federal supervision working the with the first operation and covering the area systematically under orders beginning at the south and west sides of the dust bowl leaving no cultivated land untouched and proceed until the entire area is covered  Stop  Imperative that the federal government declare an existing emergency and place martial law in effect throughout the dust bowl requiring immediate listing and planting  Stop  Blowing and shifting of the soil daily moving eastward at alarming rate    Stop  Concerted and maximum effort vitally necessary to prevent utter destruction of our soil=
